  • Guest Speaker – Mike Testa leads a talented team that’s dedicated to promoting Sacramento as an attractive place to visit and creating and attracting events and programs that grow the region’s prowess as a tourism destination. Through the impact of travel, Mike and his team strengthen Sacramento’s economic position, create jobs, and improve the quality of life for Sacramentans. Mike will be sharing updates on new events and happenings in the Sacramento area and how those will impact our hospitality community.

SHA January Membership Luncheon

Join us for our January membership luncheon—featuring guest speaker Deputy Director of the Downtown Sacramento Partnership, Scott Ford. This is a perfect opportunity to network, learn something new and enjoy a delicious meal with your hospitality community.  

What to Expect:

  • Guest Speaker – The Downtown Sacramento Partnership is a private, not-for-profit 501(6) property-based improvement district. Scott Ford will share insights on what’s being done to continually improve our downtown area, as he and the Partnership have a fundamental and unwavering belief in the foundational importance of creating and maintaining a vibrant downtown.
  • Networking – Enjoy connecting with old friends and making new ones while exchanging shared experiences and ideas with those in the hospitality community.
  • Hosted Bar & Seated Lunch – Partake in innovative, locally sourced cuisine prepared by the SAFE Credit Union’s in-house culinary professionals, Sodexo Live!

2nd Annual Vendor Showcase


Join us for SHA’s 2nd Annual Vendor Showcase — an exciting opportunity to connect, discover, and grow! Associate members will be on hand to showcase their companies and the services they offer. Hotelier members, don’t miss this chance to build connections with trusted partners who help keep your properties operating at their best.

EVENT PRICING:  

SHA Hotel Members
$40 – includes hosted reception and buffet style lunch

Associate/Vendor Members
Free for paid members. Includes an 8-foot table to display company materials, the opportunity to address group with a short presentation describing the company and services provided, and a hosted reception with buffet style lunch for up to two people.

Non-Members can pay a prorated membership fee of $300 which includes SHA membership for the rest of 2025, as well as everything listed above.

SHA November Membership Luncheon

Join us for our November membership luncheon—featuring guest speaker President & CEO of Visit California, Caroline Beteta. This is a perfect opportunity to network, learn something new and enjoy a delicious meal with your hospitality community.  

What to Expect:

  • Guest Speaker – Caroline Beteta serves as president & CEO of the industry-led Visit California, a nonprofit organization created to market California as a premier travel destination to increase the state’s share of tourism-related revenues. She will share some of the exciting work being done to increase travel and tourism to our entire state.
  • Networking – Enjoy connecting with old friends and making new ones while exchanging shared experiences and ideas with those in the hospitality community.
  • Hosted Bar & Seated Lunch – Partake in innovative, locally sourced cuisine prepared by the SAFE Credit Union’s in-house culinary professionals, Sodexo Live! 

Community Service Opportunity

We are also excited to bring you a special community service opportunity immediately following our luncheon, from 1-3 pm. In partnership with the Sheraton Grand and The Magic Yarn Project we invite you to help us make a little magic for children battling cancer. Magic Yarn is sending staff to guide the activity and the team at the Sheraton is providing all the materials. All we need is you, to stay and volunteer your time, no skills required! Plan to stay, mark your calendar and we will send an email as the event gets closer to get your RSVP for this portion of our day.

SHA September Membership Luncheon

Join us for our monthly membership luncheon on Friday September 26th.  Enjoy a reception, seated lunch and a presentation by our speaker, Sacramento Police Chief Kathy Lester. 

Chief Lester joined the Sacramento Police Department in 1994 as a dispatcher, became a community service officer in 1995, and a sworn police officer in 1996. In 2021, she was sworn in as the 46th Chief of the Sacramento Police Department. Chief Lester joined Sac PD because of its reputation for community-based policing. Today she continues to proudly serve the great people of the Sacramento area.  Chief Lester will provide updates on our community and how various efforts to improve safety impacts area hotels, businesses and tourism.

Who Should Attend?

General managers, sales and marketing representatives, security managers, and guest services personnel as well as suppliers to the hospitality community are encouraged to attend this presentation.
