Celebrating Our Achievements Together in 2025!

Dear SHA Members,

As we approach the end of 2025, I want to take a moment to reflect on what has truly been a pivotal year for the Sacramento Hotel Association. It has been a time of growth and transformation unlike we have ever seen.

One of the most significant developments of 2025 was our membership structure change, which through a partnership with the California Hotel & Lodging Association and Visit Sacramento, has allowed us to expand our association from around 30 professional hotel members to over 100. This creates an inclusive atmosphere that provides greater benefit to Sacramento’s hospitality community.

In 2025 we also refreshed our brand and logo, embracing a modern, professional identity that reflects the warm hospitality of Sacramento. Our brand-new website is live, and our increased activity on social media has significantly enhanced our online presence.

SHA’s Swinging Fore Scholarships golf tournament, continued its strong momentum, raising over $30,000 to support local college students aspiring to work in hospitality.

In addition, we supported the creation of Legends of Hospitality, a new public art series that pays tribute to some of Sacramento’s most impactful culinary leaders through stunning photorealistic murals.

Our annual vendor showcase was a success for the second year in a row, providing a dynamic environment for our hotel and vendor members to connect. We proudly welcomed 10 new vendor members this year, and we look forward to continued growth!

Throughout the year, we hosted numerous monthly luncheons featuring engaging and educational speakers, consistently breaking attendance records and bringing our community closer together.

We wrapped up 2025 with a celebration of the spirit of giving that embodies our hospitality industry. Our community donated hundreds of toys to the Stanford Settlement Neighborhood Center which helped to bring a little extra joy to local Sacramento families during the holiday season.

I want to extend my heartfelt THANK YOU to our hotel and vendor members for your unwavering support during this transformative year. Your participation, sponsorship, and presence have made SHA truly unforgettable in 2025.

I would also like to take a moment to recognize our two outgoing Board members, whose dedication to SHA has been instrumental in guiding our organization. Ryan Opatz from the Westin Hotel and Joel Moore from Thunder Valley Casino and Resort– your years of service the SHA board are greatly appreciated.

I’m grateful for the opportunity to have served as the President of the SHA Board of Directors. It has been a year I won’t forget. I step into the role of Past President with the utmost confidence in Jeroen Gerrese from the Sheraton Grand who will take the helm of SHA in 2026.

Let’s continue to build on this momentum as we head into the new year. Wishing you all a wonderful holiday season!

Warm regards, Patrick Miller
