SHA Supports Legends of Hospitality Community Mural Project
The Sacramento Hotel Association recently became a proud sponsor of an exciting creative project honoring four of our region’s most celebrated culinary and hospitality legends.
In partnership with non-profit organization, Wide Open Walls, SHA supported a new public art series called, Legends of Hospitality. These murals were completed and revealed at a press conference on September 15, 2025, in Sacramento’s Entertainment District on Jazz Alley, located behind the Sheraton Grand hotel.
The photorealistic black-and-white murals pay tribute to Lina Fat, Randy Paragary, Biba Caggiano and Darrell Corti. These culinary figures helped elevate Sacramento’s national profile, from the Farm-to-Fork movement and Legends of Wine, to Michelin Guide recognition and the upcoming Terra Madre Americas. Their impact can be felt in every corner of the region’s dining and hospitality scene.
The series was created by Ian the Painter, a muralist known for his deeply rooted, archival-style community murals and a decades-long career traveling across the United States to uplift communities through public art.
The project also received a lot of positive media coverage. Here are a couple of highlights:
SHA is constantly striving to impact our community in a positive way and we believe strongly in the mission of this project.
